Loud Karma Productions to Open Submissions for 4th Annual Playwright Award at Hollywood Fringe
Producer Grace Jasmine leads judging for the emerging female and gender diverse playwright prize, with winners receiving a cash award and Equity reading submission.
Award winning producer and playwright, Grace Jasmine (The Masher, F**Ked Up Fairy Tales) has announced her production company, Loud Karma Production's Fourth annual award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Once again, Loud Karma has been selected by the leadership at the Hollywood Fringe to host the Loud Karma Emerging Female and Gender Diverse Playwright Award at the Fringe Festival. Jasmine notes, "The name of the award has been changed this year to reflect Loud Karma's ongoing mission to support diverse playwrights who have been marginalized for reasons of bias."
How to participate:
Female and gender diverse playwrights may submit their plays for judging now. The application for the award which celebrates the written word of playwrights can be found at https://tinyurl.com/yen99k5y.
Applicant playwrights must submit their plays and complete and application to be eligible. Each play is read three times by judges. Winners receive a sizable cash prize, a submission of their work to an Equity New Work Theatre Program for a possible Equity reading, (Former winner, Starr Shapiro's play Obsessed won this honor!) and a guest spot on our new podcast, Loud Karma Talks Theatre!
About the award and the Hollywood Fringe:
Grace Jasmine and her team of industry judges from across the United States will read and judge up to 100 plays from talented emerging playwrights who are participating as writers of produced shows at this year's Hollywood Fringe Festival for the 2026 season. According to information provided by the Hollywood Fringe Festival to the press, "This year's festival features a record-breaking 480+ shows and over 2,150 performances, spanning comedy, drama, immersive, clown, musical theatre, and more, continuing as L.A.'s largest celebration of the performing arts."

Loud Karma's team of national industry judges this year includes award winning playwrights, Dramatist Guild representatives, award winning producers, directors, artistic directors, film and TV writers, actors, tech people, Hollywood costumers, and drama and theater educators. They are:
