FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post will continue its Fall 2011 season with the debut of celebrated singer JOHN TARANGELO. For his new show at Feinstein's, John will feature classic songs in tribute to artists such as Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Sinatra, Bobby Vinton, Paul Anka, Tony Bennett, Elvis, Dion, Little Anthony, The Mystics, The Platters, The Drifters, and more. The show will run for two nights only, October 18 and October 25 at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

JOHN TARANGELO was born July 24th 1954, in the Bronx New York to a closely knit Italian family. At 17, John moved from the Bronx to Staten Island and started his own vocal group. Performing at many high school functions, he kept his intense desire to sing. By the age of 22 John was introduced to the original bass singer of the Mystics, a famous Doo Wop group from Brooklyn, NY that had a hit record in 1959 called "Hushabye."

It was about the same time in New York that there was a resurgence of the 1950's group harmony style of music in the Metropolitan area. John auditioned for the Mystics and was accepted as a member in 1980. His first performance was at the well known Apollo Theater in NY. Performances at the Beacon Theater, Radio City, and Carnige Hall followed. In 1982, John was signed by CBS records and recorded an album with the Mystics called "Crazy for You". He continued to perform with the Mystics until he left the group in 1992. Deciding that it was time for a change and that he wanted to pursue a career on his own, John moved from New York to Naples, Florida. It was while singing as a solo act in Florida that people started to realize he sounded similar to many of the artists he was paying tribute to.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present JOHN TARANGELO on Tuesday, October 18 and Tuesday, October 25 at 10:30 PM. The performance has a $30.00 cover with $50.00 premium seats available, in addition to a $25.00 food and beverage minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required. The club is located at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street in New York City.
