JACK AND THE BEANSTALK To Star Shaun Williamson At Kings Theatre Portsmouth
Pompey Panto 2026 will see Williamson return following Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and his appointment as Portsmouth Theatres patron.
Shaun Williamson will return to Kings Theatre Portsmouth to star as Fleshcreep in JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, part of Pompey Panto 2026. The production has been announced by Portsmouth Theatres.
The announcement follows Williamson’s recent appointment as a Patron of Portsmouth Theatres, marking the first patron named since the merger of Kings Theatre Portsmouth and Theatre Royal Portsmouth under the unified Portsmouth Theatres banner.
A regular presence in Portsmouth, Williamson most recently appeared at Kings Theatre in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, playing the Toymaker. His return as the villainous Fleshcreep continues his ongoing association with the venue and its pantomime tradition.
The 2026 production of JACK AND THE BEANSTALK will form part of the theatre’s annual festive season. Williamson is set to bring his established comic style and larger-than-life stage presence to the role, combining humor with classic panto villainy.
Artistic Director and Deputy CEO Jack Edwards said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Shaun back to The Kings Theatre stage in such an iconic role, and to continue our relationship with him as our Patron. He represents everything we value in live theatre: warmth, humour, and a deep connection with our audiences.”
Edwards added that Williamson has become “part of the family,” both as a performer and company member.
Williamson said: “It’s a real honour to be returning to Portsmouth for panto and to also serve as Patron of Portsmouth Theatres. I love Portsmouth and especially being part of the Portsmouth Theatres shows. These venues are incredibly special, and I’m proud to be part of their future as well as their festive traditions.”
JACK AND THE BEANSTALK will run as part of Pompey Panto 2026 at Kings Theatre Portsmouth.
Further casting, dates, and ticket details will be announced.
