Studio Dante, founded in 2003 by Michael & Victoria Imperioli, will present the world premiere of Late Fragment, a new play by Francine Volpe (one-act plays The Confession, The Broker, Sweethearts, the full-length Appreciation) and co-directed by Michael Imperioli and Zetna Fuentes.  This limited Off-Broadway engagement will run Wednesday, September 28 through Saturday, October 22 at Studio Dante (257 West 29th Street).  The official opening is set for Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 PM.

In the play, "Matthew flees the attack on the World Trade Center and returns home to face an impatient wife, their manipulative lawyer, and reporters desperate to spin his ordeal into a hero story. All about keeping it together and coming undone, Late Fragment explores love, loss, compassion and cruelty and begs of both survivors and victims, did you get what you wanted from this life?" state production notes.

'Michael Imperioli and Zetna Fuentes direct. As an actor, Michael Imperiolis film credits include the voice of Frankie in the Academy Award-nominated Shark Tale, Goodfellas, Jungle Fever, Malcom X, Clockers, Girl 6 & Summer of Sam (writer & executive producer); Dead Presidents and others. His television credits include HBOs "The Sopranos" (Best Supporting Actor Emmy Award, Golden Globe nomination).  He has also written five episodes of the show.  His numerous stage credits include Aven U Boys, Displaced Persons, Half Deserted Street and Seth Zvi Rosenfield's The Writing On The Wall & Little Blood Brother.  Fuentes' directing credits for theater include Ponies (Assistant Director to Nick Sandow) at Studio Dante, Bold Girls (Assistant Director to Ludovica Villar-Hauser) at the 29th Street Rep and The Pitchfork Disney (Assistant Director to Kevin Kittle) at The Greenwich Street Theatre.

This production includes set and costume design by Victoria Imperioli and lighting by Tony Giovannetti, both Studio Dante resident designers.

Studio Dante, built by Michael & Victoria Imperioli, was conceived to house progressive new plays in a setting inspired by the grand architecture and design of traditional 19th Century venues.  For the last decade Michael Imperioli has produced, directed and acted on New York stages. For Studio Dante, Michael directed the companys inaugural production, Baptism by Fire.  Studio Dante is the latest installment of Victoria Imperolis design work.  Having studied architecture and design at both NYCs School of Visual Arts & New York University, she has been involved in various projects in both the US and Europe since the early 90s. Victoria developed a distinct and admired style of her own, which led to her works recent exposure in Architectural Digest.  Studio Dante is committed to producing writers who inhabit a fresh point of view and have the courage to investigate difficult emotional terrain.  Past productions include Baptism By Fire (Spring 2004), Ponies (Fall 2004) and Henry Flamethrowa (Spring 2005).
