'How to Save the World' Begins at New World Stages, 11/4

How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes, a new musical, will open at New World Stages/Stage 5 (340 West 50th Street) on November 12th after beginning previews on November 4th.

The show will be directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli.  With book and lyrics by Jonathan Karp and music by Seth Weinstein, How to Save the World...-which will play an open-ended run--will star Michael McEachran (Little Me), Anika Larsen (All Shook Up), Nicole Ruth Snelson (Annie Get Your Gun), Stephen Bienskie (Cats), Natalie Joy Johnson (Bare) and Kevin Smith Kirkwood.  It was previously seen at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2004.

Set at the United Nations, the musical follows "a cowardly bookshop clerk, a sexy diplomat and an idealistic slacker (who) confront their deepest fears when an office romance leads to international crisis." The musical premiered in August 2004 as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.

Gattelli's credits as a choreographer include Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Altar Boyz, and Bat Boy.

The show will feature sets by Beowulf Boritt, costumes by David Murin, lighting by Jeff Croiter and sound by Peter Hylenski.
