Gillian Fu Launches New Global Producing Venture

New York-based Broadway producer Gillian Fu has announced the launch of Gillian Fu Productions, a new global producing venture designed to bring Singaporean financial and producing support to developmental works in the commercial theatre industry. Through a strategic collaboration with Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT), the initiative aims to identify theatrical content in development with strong potential to resonate in both Eastern and Western markets-and bring these opportunities to investors and producing partners from Singapore.

Fu's venture will focus on discovering original musicals and contemporary plays that explore universal themes. The team is particularly interested in edgy new work that centers Asian voices, the Asian diaspora and cross-cultural narratives.

The venture plans to provide opportunities for Singaporean stakeholders to enter at the early-to-mid-development stages-helping to form an international producing partnership, while also bringing financial support from the ground up. By offering international insight, the goal is to give projects the runway they need to grow into global contenders.

Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) will serve as a creative and strategic partner. Founded in 1993, SRT is one of Asia's most established and influential theatre companies, with a reputation for premiering world-class productions, fostering international collaborations, and serving as a launchpad for regionally developed work. Its past collaborators include the Royal Shakespeare Company, Broadway Asia, and national theatres across Europe and China.
