On November 13 from 2-4:30PM, Ellen's Stardust Diner will host a Miss Subways reunion, the first of its kind in a decade. With the effects of Superstorm Sandy still being felt by so many - including some former Miss Subways themselves - the event will raise funds to purchase MetroCards for those in need. Ellen's Stardust Diner owner and former Miss Subways 1959, Ellen Hart, will match all donations dollar for dollar.

The Miss Subways reunion comes as part of the celebration for "Meet Miss Subways: New York's Beauty Queens 1941-76," a new book and exhibition at the New York Transit Museum running Oct. 23-March 25.

In addition to reconnecting dozens of Miss Subways, the reunion will feature performances from Ellen's Stardust Diner's world-famous singing waitstaff (which has served as the launching ground for many vocalists who have gone on to success on Broadway and American Idol), remarks from Hart, whose vast collection of original Miss Subways posters inspired the new book and exhibition, and a great photo-op when the Miss Subways ride the subway from Ellen's to the Transit Museum.
