EDINBURGH 2026: Review: AN (EARLY) EVENING WITH GREGOR FISHER, Gilded Balloon
An (Early) Evening With Gregor Fisher runs at Edfringe until 30 August

An (Early) Evening With Gregor Fisher is an hour of conversation between acting legend Gregor Fisher and Nigel West.
With a career spanning decades, there are a lot of interesting stories to be told. The rapport between the pair is warm and it is impressive that the chat comes across as spontaneous when they’re doing the show throughout the month.
There are photo montages and video clips that provide a good bit of nostalgia for the audience. Though perhaps best known for playing Rab C Nesbitt, he has a wealth of other great roles, and his time at the Royal Lyceum Theatre is particularly interesting.
Nothing feels like its scripted and this is the charm of this show. Fisher hits out with anecdotes that have the audience in stitches and its a really pleasant way to spend an (early) evening.
There are personal anecdotes as well as professional ones, and Fisher discusses his recent health scares and lifestyle changes. It’s a candid and insightful chat from a Scottish acting legend.
