Donmar Warehouse Appoints Four New Board Trustees

The Board of The Donmar Warehouse Projects has appointed four new trustees who will join from 11 June. They are: Simon Dingemans; Martha Lane Fox; Monisha Shah; and Jonathan Smith.

Lord Browne, Chairman, said: "I am delighted that we are able to secure such accomplished people to be members of our Board at a time of significant change at The Donmar Warehouse".

Simon Dingemans

Simon has been Chief Financial Officer of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) since 2011. He is a member of their Board and the Corporate Executive Team.

As part of his role at GSK, Simon is responsible for Global Finance and several of the company's key global functions including Technology, Data and Analytics capabilities. He worked with GSK for over a decade prior to joining the company and was closely involved in a number of GSK's most important strategic projects during that time.

Simon joined GSK from Goldman Sachs International where he was a Managing Director and Partner. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1995, becoming Head of UK Investment Banking and later becoming a leader of the European Mergers and Acquisitions business.

Simon was Chairman of the 100 Group of Finance Directors between 2014 and 2016.

Martha Lane Fox

Martha is founder and executive chair of Doteveryone.org.uk, a charity fighting for a fairer internet. She became a crossbench peer in the UK House of Lords in March 2013.

In 2017 Martha was appointed a member of the Joint Committee on National Security Strategy. In March 2014 she was appointed Chancellor of the Open University.

From 2009 to 2013 Martha was Digital Champion for the UK and helped to create the Government Digital Service - this team launched gov.uk transforming government service delivery.

Martha co-founded and chairs LuckyVoice, revolutionising the karaoke industry.

She is a non-executive director of Twitter, the Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction and the Scale Up Institute. Martha is also a Patron of AbilityNet, Reprieve, Camfed and Just for Kids Law. In 2013 Martha was awarded a CBE.

In 1998, Martha co-founded Europe's largest travel and leisure website, lastminute.com with Brent Hoberman. They took it public in 2000 and sold it in 2005.

Monisha Shah

Monisha is the Chair of Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, and a non-executive director of Imagen. She is an independent director of Next Mediaworks Plc (India), and a member of the Committee for Standards in Public Life, sponsored by the Cabinet Office. Monisha is also a member of the Ofcom Content Board, a member of the Office for Students Board. Monisha is on the Queen's Counsel Appointments Panel and a trustee of the Art Fund.

Monisha has been a trustee of the Tate, the National Gallery, the Foundling Museum and ArtUK. She was previously Director of Sales for Emerging Markets for BBC Worldwide. Monisha has an MSc from SOAS and an MBA from the London Business School. She received a Young Global Leader award at the World Economic Forum in 2009.

Jonathan Smith

Jonathan Smith is a chartered surveyor experienced in property development, investment and trading. He has been in partnership with Peter Williams at United Consolidated Group since 2002. His early career was spent at Aviva Fund Managers, Singer & Friedlander and Close Brothers.

Jonathan worked on the development of the Donmar's Dryden Street rehearsal and office space and has more recently sat on the Donmar's Theatre Takeover (Property) Committee.
