Celebrate the 15th Anniversary of TABOO This Month at the Laurie Beechman

Mason Alexander Park and Mimi Imfurst have teamed up to present TABOO 15, a concert of music from Boy George's cult hit musical TABOO in honor of its 15th Anniversary.

In addition to Park and Imfurst, TABOO 15 will also feature Kaley Vorhees (currently appearing on Broadway as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera), Shannon Conley (Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway), Caroline Lellouche (Diane Paulus' Donkey Show at ART) and Bobby Goodrich (Divine/Intervention) with some surprise guests. The evening will be accompanied by band members from the Broadway and National Tour of Hedwig and The Angry Inch.

TABOO was originally produced on Broadway at The Plymouth Theatre in 2003 by Rosie O'Donnell. Boy George was Tony-nominated for his score to the musical and it featured a book by Tony Award nominee Charles Busch.

TABOO concerns the lives of two larger-than-life personalities involved in the eighties London club scene: singer Boy George, who rose to international fame via the pop group Culture Club, and performance artist Leigh Bowery, who became known for his outlandish costumes and make-up before an early death from AIDS. Their stories are told against the background of the London club TABOO, which featured an array of self-proclaimed "freaks."

Mason Alexander Park just got off the first Broadway national tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch as the first and only Hedwig standby for the Broadway production. Other favorite credits include Man in Chair (Drowsy Chaperone) Mark in Pittsburgh CLO's Altar Boyz, Dr. Frank-N-Furter (The Rocky Horror Show), and as the first male countertenor to play Miss Andrew in Disney's Mary Poppins. He was introduced to Pittsburgh CLO through the National High School Musical Theater Awards, during which time he was featured on PBS's reality series "Broadway or Bust." He also been honored at the Kennedy Center in D.C. as the 2013 Presidential Scholar in the Arts for Musical Theatre, which featured him in the PBS documentary, "Becoming and Artist". He can also be seen on other shows such as Nickelodeon's iCarly and Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures. Mason founded and remains the Artistic Director of PARK Productions, a non-profit 501c3 professional theatre company based in Pittsburgh.

Aside from two notorious turns on RuPaul's Drag Race, as Mimi Imfurst he has also appeared in drag on Nurse Jackie, CelebrityApprentice, Blue Bloods and ABC's What Would You Do? He has directed and produced productions of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Rocky Horror Show, and Into The Woods. As a producer, he created the RuPaul's Drag Race Battle of the Seasons tour (now touring 60 cities internationally with Live Nation) and created the girl group Xelle. Aside from touring as a drag comedian and cabaret artist he has starred in several drag theater pieces including The Diary of Anne Frankenstein, Thank You For Being A Friend (an unauthorized Golden Girls parody musical), The Facts Of Life - The Lost Episode and Rhoda Heartbreak: The Musical.
