Casting Director Joy Dewing Joins Disney Talent Casting & Booking in Anaheim

Casting director Joy Dewing will close her New York office after five successful years in order to accept a position with the Disney Talent Casting and Booking team in Anaheim, CA. Joy Dewing Casting will cease operations tomorrow, Thursday, August 17, 2017.
"It breaks my heart just a little to have to say farewell to Joy Dewing Casting, to these incredibly talented & dedicated creative teams, to my staff, and to everyone who has supported us and helped us grow and thrive over the years," said Joy Dewing. "But this business of show operates in a very Small World and I have a feeling we will all meet again."
Dewing has transitioned her National Tours to new offices. Effective Thursday, August 17, 2017, Jason Styres, CSA will take over casting for Magic Mike Live and Cinderella; while Scott Wojick and Gayle Seay will assume casting responsibilities for Kinky Boots and Rent.
Dewing began her casting career in 2005, working with Alee Ralph at Big League Theatricals. She then landed an internship with Dave Clemmons Casting and worked her way up to Partner, joining forces with Dave to create Clemmons/Dewing Casting in 2011. JDC was created in May 2012 and credits include Soul Doctor, Wonderland on Broadway and a myriad of National Tours, including Annie, 42nd Street, The Wizard of Oz, Mamma Mia, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (starring Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young), Bring it On, Ghost, West Side Story, Catch Me If You Can, In the Heights, Fiddler on the Roof (Topol, Harvey Fierstein), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Oliver, The King & I; Off-Broadway productions, 50 Shades! The Musical, TIl Divorce Do Us Part, Forever Dusty, Soul Doctor, The VOCA PEOPLE, Dear Edwina; Dance companies, Rasta Thomas, and Elizabeth Streb.
