Camp John Waters Returns to Club Getaway in 2019 With Ricki Lake, Mink Stole & Pat Moran

Back by popular demand, Director John Waters (Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, A Dirty Shame) will return to Club Getaway in Kent, Connecticut for a once in a lifetime Sleepaway-Camp experience for his super fans from September 13th - 16th, 2019. The 300-acre adult summer camp in the Berkshire Mountains will be transformed for an exclusive and extended edition like no other.

This 3rd Annual Camp John Waters weekend promises to be dirtier, filthier, raunchier and longer than ever before with special camp counselors Ricki Lake, Mink Stole and casting director Pat Moran among the special guests and more surprises in store. Guests will be invited to participate alongside other trashy campers in fun activities like a John Waters Costume Contest judged by John Waters, dance parties, fireside storytelling, a John Waters Movie Marathon, Hairspray Karaoke, Bloody Mary Bingo, Campfire & S'mores, Scotch & Cigars & more.

Guests will also be invited to experience Club Getaway's favorite activities including Paint & Sip, Swimming, Trapeze, Zip Lining, Hiking, Biking, Rock Climbing, Skywalking at the Aerial Park, Archery, Waterskiing, Tennis, Giant Swings, Basketball, Paddle Boarding, Sailing, Bungee Trampolining, plus many other traditional campy options.

Pre-sale tickets exclusively for happy campers who attended both the 2017 and 2018 editions of Camp John Waters will go on sale on November 12th and 13th. On November 14th campers who attended either 2017 or 2018's special John Waters weekend will be able to reserve their spots. And on November 18th sales will be open to the general public. A payment plan is available, allowing guests to pay 50% now and 50% by April 1st. Bus service from New York City is available for an additional fee & this year a Glamping option is available..

The cult classic, Baltimore-born filmmaker began his Hollywood success with now Broadway classic, Hairspray in 1988. Claiming his playful nicknames "Pope of Trash" and "Prince of Puke," he maintains his image through his filmmaking and his personal presentation. Regarded as a shocking entertainer, John Waters carefully chooses his material and exploits it through a dirty lens.

Club Getaway, located in picturesque Kent, CT serves as a children's camp during the week and a camp for adults on the weekends. It has been the premier destination for sports, fun and entertainment in the Northeast for men and women of all ages for the last 40 years. The 320-acre camp offers activities ranging from ziplining and trapeze, to stand up paddleboarding. Club Getaway's season begins in May and caps off with a fall finale in October.
