Cabaret for a Cause was created in 2010 to bring young performers from Broadway, film, and television together to help children in need. A portion of all tickets sales from this event will go towards the purchasing of holiday gifts, school supplies, and home necessities for Project Renewal's (www.projectrenewal.org) family housing program, En Casa.

On a given night in NYC, over 20,000 homeless children sleep in city shelters. Many of their parents struggle with chronic addiction and mental illness. Without the right treatment and support, homeless families are continuously uprooted as they move from shelter to shelter. Homeless children are sick at twice the rate of other children and they are nine times more likely to repeat a grade.

In 2013, Project Renewal launched their first housing program for homeless families. The En Casa program provides ten scattered-site apartments to homeless parents and their children. They provide wraparound support services to help homeless parents achieve sobriety and create healthy, safe, and supportive environments for their children.
