CRAFTY MART to Return to Canton Museum of Art for July First Friday

Canton, Ohio - Canton Crafty Mart makes its triumphant return for ONE DAY ONLY at the Canton Museum of Art on First Friday, July 1, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Crafty Mart features handcrafted gifts and attainable art made by local, independent artisans through specialty pop-up markets throughout Northeast Ohio.

Crafty Mart prides itself as more than just a place for shopping-- it's a community event. There will be a cash bar available. Visitors are encouraged to grab a drink, settle in, and get lost in great conversation with new friends. Plus, free admission into the CMA galleries and a free Make & Take craft station for kids. This event is sponsored by ArtsInStark.

To celebrate the "shop local" spirit of Crafty Mart, the Canton Arts District has come together with a fun project to enhance the public's experience downtown for the week of June 24 - July 1.

Visit any of the 17 participating venues between June 24-July 1st and receive a Canton Arts District Passport and your first card punch. During that week, collect four card punches and bring your passport to Crafty Mart on Friday between 4-8 pm and you will receive raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes from participating Crafty Mart vendors, and other wonderful prizes!

Who doesn't love winning prizes? Visitors only need 4 punches out of the 17 participating venues to enter. Turn in a punched card on Friday July 1st at the Canton Museum of Art.

Canton First Friday is a monthly party in the downtown Canton Arts District featuring themed music, performance and visual arts events and always a few surprises. It's a self-guided tour of local art galleries, studios, stores and restaurants. Every month the Canton Museum of Art is where the party starts! The first Crafty Mart took place in 2009, giving Ohians a place to shop small and local artists and makers a platform to sell their goods as well as attracting unique crafters and artisans to the Rubber City and beyond. Crafty Mart provides creative and engaging opportunities for artists and community members to foster artistic, thoughtful, and community-focused lifestyles through pop-up markets around Northeast Ohio.
