CBS SUNDAY MORNING, the nation's #1 Sunday morning news program, posted double-digit percentage viewer gains and posted gains in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Oct. 15. CBS SUNDAY MORNING delivered 5.98 million viewers (up +17% from 5.1m the same week last year) and a 1.2/07 (up +9% from 1.1/06 a year ago) with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. CBS SUNDAY MORNING is the #1 Sunday morning news program in both categories.

Television year-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING is up +2% in viewers (5.63m from 5.52m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.1/07) compared to last year. CBS SUNDAY MORNING is the #1 Sunday morning news program in these measures.

Sunday's broadcast featured Dr. Jon LaPook's cover story on the life and legacy of one of history's great geniuses, Leonardo da Vinci, featuring an interview with Walter Isaacson, author of a new BIOGRAPHY of da Vinci.

Also on the broadcast, Lee Cowan interviewed actor and now author Tom Hanks; Rita Braver talked with Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei, who has a new documentary out about the plight of refugees and a public sculpture display at sites across New York City; Tracy Smith profiled late night host Jimmy Kimmel; Tony Dokoupil sat down with pop superstar HARRY Styles; journalist Getchen Carlson weighed in on the need to change the laws that make it difficult for victims of sexual harassment to take action, and to get bystanders to open up when they witness sexual harassment; and Steve Hartman reported on man who befriended the young son of a man serving in the military.
