Bill Evans Returns to Blue Note, 4/10
GRAMMY-Award winning saxophonist Bill Evans will return to the Blue Note from April 10 - 14 to mark the U.S. premiere of his new recording Dragonfly with his band Soulgrass and special guests.
Each night will feature a different special guest: vibraphonist Mike Mainieri (4/10, 4/13, 4/14), pianist/organist John Medeski (4/11, 4/12) and trumpeter Randy Brecker (4/12). The jazz-fusion legend has handcrafted an ensemble of soulful virtuosos, featuring the singing drummer Josh Dion, jazz banjo conceptualist Ryan Cavanaugh, genuine NY guitar hero Mitch Stein on lead guitar and background vocals and outstanding Cameroonian bassist Etienne Mbappe.
The evening costs $35 @ table / $20 @ bar. Performances will take place at The Blue Note; 131 W 3rd. St, New York, NY 10012. Doors open at 6pm. Set times are 8pm and 10:30pm
