Becki Newton Gives Birth to a Baby Boy

According to USMagazine.com, UGLY BETTY's Becki Newton and her husband Chris Diamantopoulos have welcomed a son to the family. The 32 year old gave birth to a baby boy in Los Angeles in early November. It is the couple's first child.

NBC had to bump back Becki Newton's new comedy, 'Love Bites' to midseason when the Ugly Betty/Girl Crazy star shared the news. Vernon Sanders, executive vice president of current programming explained, "she plays a virgin, so we have to make adjustments to that."

Newton portrayed the character Amanda Tanen in the comedy-drama series Ugly Betty from 2006 to 2010. With co-star Michael Urie, Newton co-hosted of the Official Ugly Betty Podcast. She also appeared in ABC.com's Mode After Hours webisode series. Ugly Betty was canceled in 2010 after four seasons due to low-ratings.

In late 2009, Newton performed at a New York City Center Encores! presentation of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was directed by Jerry Zaks. She portrayed Molly Gray and performed opposite real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos.
