André De Shields Set For Dedication of the Frederick Douglass Memorial 9/20

Award-winning Broadway star André De Shields will participate in the dedication ceremony of the Frederick Douglass Memorial on Tuesday, September 20 at 11:00 AM. Organized by The City of New York and The Central Park Conservancy, this event will take place at 110th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard and is open to the public. City officials expected to be on hand.

De Shields, who has created and performs a solo work entitled Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory: From Douglass To Deliverance, in which he explores the life and achievements of Frederick Douglass, was invited by the organizers to perform excerpts from his show as Douglass.
