As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Annie Baker's THE FLICK, which was honored with the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, will return to New York City at the Barrow Street Theatre later this year. According to Variety, producer Scott Rudin will give the show an off Broadway run, with opening night set for May 28.

The original Playwrights Horizons cast will star, including Alex Hanna, Louisa Krause, Matthew Maher and Aaron Clifton Moten.

In a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts, three underpaid employees mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35 millimeter film projectors in the state. Their tiny battles, and not-so-tiny heartbreaks, more gripping than the lackluster, second-run movies on screen, play out in the empty aisles. With keen insight and a finely-tuned comic eye, THE FLICK is a hilarious and heart-rending cry for authenticity in a fast-changing world.
