The American Museum of Natural History is celebrating the season by inviting visitors to take last-minute holiday snapshots around the Museum from December 16, 2010, through January 2, 2011. Visitors will be able to photograph their family and friends in eight festive spots that include classic winter scenes in world-class dioramas and Museum icons like Tyrannosaurus rex. Afterwards visitors can visit amnh.org/cards to find a festive picture frame to use for emailing holiday greetings.
Decorated locations include:
· Holiday Origami Tree on the lower level;
· Tyrannosaurus rex in the Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs;
· Easter Island statue in the
Margaret Mead Hall of Pacific Peoples;
· Penguin diorama in the Hall of Birds of the World;
· Mountain Goat diorama in the Hall of North American Mammals;
· Aztec calendar in the Hall of Mexico and Central America; and
· Diorama of making maple syrup in the Hall of North American Forests.
HOURS The Museum is open daily, 10 am-5:45 pm.
The Museum is closed on Christmas day.
ADMISSION Suggested general admission, which supports the Museum's scientific and educational endeavors and includes 46 Museum halls and the Rose Center for Earth and Space, is $16 (adults) suggested, $12 (students/seniors) suggested, $9 (children) suggested. All prices are subject to change.

TRANSPORTATION The Museum is easily accessible by public transportation: subway lines B or C to 81st Street, 1 or 9 to 79th Street and buses M7, M10, M11, or M104 to 79th Street; M79 to Central Park West.
