Carolee Carmello, nominated for BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE IN A MUSICAL for SCANDALOUS
"I was at home in bed and I woke up at 8:15 and realized that the nominations were at 8:30. I knew I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep. So I sat with my computer and just held my breath. Then afterwards I got a teary call from my mother and Kathie Lee [Gifford] and a bunch of nice people congratulating me. It's such nice closure. We worked on the show for so long- I was involved for 7 years on and off, so I felt so connected to her and the show. To see it come to Broadway but have a short life was frustrating of course. I would love to still be doing it now! It's a nice recognition for the show."
