Regional productions, touring shows, community theatre and more are all included, honoring productions which opened between October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017. Our local editors have set the categories and now YOU get to nominate and vote for your favorites! Nominations are reader-submitted and will be open through October 31.
WAITRESS Tour to Hold Local Auditions for 'Lulu' at Fox Cities P.A.C.

The Tony-nominated musical WAITRESS will make its Wisconsin premiere at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center Nov. 28 - Dec. 3. The production will be holding auditions to find two young girls to alternate the role of Lulu for the duration of their Fox Cities engagement. Auditions will be held at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, October 11 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Peninsula Players Theatre, Door County's theatrical treasure and America's oldest professional resident summer theater, is thrilled to announce new curtain times for its 2017 fall season with 7 p.m. evening performances and 3 p.m. matinees on select Sunday performances for the charming offbeat comedy, Almost, Maine by John Cariani. Performances of Almost, Maine are Tuesdays through Sundays at 7 p.m. through Oct. 15except for the Sunday matinees on Sept. 17, Oct. 1 and 15 at 3 p.m.

Kicking off the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's 15th Anniversary Season, the popular smash-hit musical WICKED has returned for its fourth run since it made its Wisconsin premiere at the P.A.C. in 2009. WICKED will continue to play through September 10. In spite of its thousands of performances since its 2003 Broadway debut, the show's magical bubble still hasn't burst.

ALMOST, MAINE Opens Fall Season at Peninsula Players Theatre

 On a moonless night, the residents of a remote, mythical town find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways in the charming, offbeat comedy "Almost, Maine" by John Cariani.  "Almost, Maine" is the final play of the 2017 season at Peninsula Players and launches the theater into its fall season September 6 through October 15.  While the northern lights dance overhead, the not-so-tough women and men crack some beer and try to make sense of love.

Peninsula Players Theatre, in conjunction with its production of "Lord Arthur Savile's Crime" will host scholar Christopher Chan, August 18 at 6:30 p.m for a pre-show seminar. Dr. Chan will speak on Oscar Wilde's life and works, including his short story which inspired the play. Tickets to performances are available, admission to the pre-show seminar is free.

Lord Arthur, a pillar of Victorian society, is about to marry the lovely Sybil Merton, his childhood sweetheart, and is deliriously happy at the start of Peninsula Players Theatre's forthcoming comedy, "Lord Arthur Savile's Crime," by Constance Cox, based on a story by Oscar Wilde.  Laughter will fill the theater-in-a-garden August 16 through September 3 while Lord Arthur takes the stage with his muddled murder attempts.

"The Bridges of Madison County" captured the nation's attention in 1992 as a best-selling novel, then again in 1995 as a major motion picture.  It is a compelling, two-time Tony Award-winning musical now on stage at Peninsula Players through August 13.  "The Bridges of Madison County" is the touching story of Francesca, a lovely Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy. She is looking forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm as her family heads to the 1965 Indiana State Fair when ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid pulls into her driveway seeking directions. What happens in those next four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life.
