To commemorate the 264th anniversary of Bach's death The Corinthian Singers, under the directorship of Nicola Hardie-Campbell, will take the audience on a journey of discovery, via the "Ancient and Modern" music of J.S. Bach.

The program will include pieces harmonised or inspired by J S Bach - including some of his exquisite small pieces, the hidden jewels amongst his better known works, well known and loved settings, plus arrangements with a modern twist.

Works sung by the choir will include Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring and Chorales from the St John Passion as well as arrangements for choir of Air on a G string and the Fugue 9 from the second book of the Well-tempered Clavier.

The program will include two contemporary works: Paul Simon's American Tune, based on a chorale tune from the St Mathew's Passion and 60s blues group Procol Harem's Whiter Shade of Pale which was also heavily influenced by Bach. Both have been arranged by local musician Ray Lindon.
