Fresh from sell-out shows at Melbourne Fringe 2013, James Cunningham's THE SHEDS is a fly-on-the-wall adventure into an AFL locker room... and it's coming to Adelaide Fringe 2014.

Darren Anderson, the star player for the premiership-winning Fitzroy Fighters, is so convinced of his popularity that when he casually announces that he's gay, he assumes the news will be readily accepted by everyone. It isn't. This groundbreaking Australian production examines the underlying tensions between mateship and masculinity in Australian sport. Rife with foul language, violence, secrets and nudity - audiences are invited into THE SHEDS and watch as this drama unfolds.

With homosexuality in Australian sport a topical, controversial, and sometimes taboo subject this raw an visceral production sure pack a punch. Unfortunately many Australians are uncomfortable talking about sexuality and homophobia in sport because of their background, values, beliefs and fears. It is often easier for them to deny, ignore or even joke about the issue. As a result, stereotypes and myths persist and THE SHEDS aims to break down those stereotypes and dispel those myths.

The show, running 60 minutes, will be put on at the Bakehouse Theatre from today, February 18 - 22 at 7:30. Ticket prices are $30, concessions and Fringe Members are $25.
