At 2.30pm Sunday 5 November Concerts at Christ Church North Adelaide, 62-72 Jeffcott Street, North Adelaide presents the unique collaboration of Simon Cobcroft, Principal Cellist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Christ Church's organist Andrew Georg.
Simon and Andrew's programme includes music by Bruch, Saint-Saëns, and Schumann, J. S. Bach's Second Suite for solo cello, and a scintillating Sonata by British organ virtuoso and composer David Briggs. Simon Cobcroft is a prolific and versatile performer of solo, orchestral, and chamber music in Australia and further afield. Since 2014 he has been Principal Cello with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, and has also held the positions of Associate Principal Cello with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, and Sub-Principal Cello with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Andrew Georg is a versatile musician whose career encompasses church music, opera, choral music, and accompanying. He is a repetiteur with the State Opera of South Australia, and Organist and Choir Director at Christ Church.Videos
