At The Noel Lothian Hall, Fringe Gets Classy

The Adelaide Fringe is getting classy this year, with Hartstone-Kitney Productions brining seven incredible shows to the Noel Lothian Hall. They are once again transforming the Noel Lothian Hall into a bespoke black box theatre, and are introducing a Rose Garden Bar, turning the already unique garden location into an elegant oasis amongst the East End chaos.

Adelaide's powerhouse production team of Joanne Hartstone and Tom Kitney have sourced only the best, freshest and most exciting shows to fill their intimate 95 seat venue, and can't wait to introduce it to the World. With a mix of locally made new shows, established Australian theatre, returning International works and even some UK magic to spice things up, everyone is certain to find a show (or seven) that will excite them.

An Australian Premier, Dietrich: Natural Duty, is an intoxicating one (wo)man show revealing the life of a legend.?

It is 1942. On the battlefields of North Africa in a gold sequin gown, Marlene Dietrich takes to the stage to fight the war her way; with an irresistible mix of songs, sequins, sex and sympathy.

This breathtaking mixture of theatre, cabaret and drag comes straight from a London run at Wilton's Music Hall, via New York, Amsterdam, Liverpool, a critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival and a complete sell out at the VAULT Festival. Fall in love again with this Hollywood icon and her extraordinary commitment to duty.

Britain's BAD BOYS of MAGIC are return to Adelaide after being chased out of their homeland for smashing up the Magician's Handbook. Anarchic twin tricksters Kane & Abel will break ALL** the rules of the Magicians' Code of Conduct passed down to them by their grandfather to prove that it feels GREAT to be BAD! You will NOT want to miss this "seriously impressive" (BBC) "night full of surprise and fun that'll leave you impressed and in stitches" (This is Radelaide ????).

'Flood' by Chris Isaacs ('Fag/Stag', 'All That Glitters', 'Falling Through Clouds') is A play about identity, tribalism, privilege, and cultural division in 'modernised', 'carefree' colonial Australia.

Their parent's Tarago. A pristine lake. Six young friends reunite on a camping trip to the 'untouched' outback of Western Australia. Old jokes, rivalries and attractions are rekindled. They don't have a care in the world... until they unintentionally violate sacred land and an Indigenous man is murdered.

'Flood' is a controversial new production by 2018 Best Theatre Award Winners: The Cabbages & Kings Collective (for 'One long night in the Land of Nod' by Duncan Graham).

Dinky-tickling. Jiggery-pokery. The Matrimonial Polka. 'Cookies and Cream' is a new play by award- winning playwright Zachary Sheridan. It's coming- of-age meets indie romantic comedy, performed by a team of fresh WAAPA grads tackle a big, juicy question; how and when do we learn to communicate with partners about sexual pleasure? Erdnase - the anonymous and legendary author of the seminal gambling and magic book: The Expert at the Card Table.

Commemorating 125 years since South Australia legislated for women to vote in general elections and to stand as members of Parliament, Joanne Hartstone ("one of Adelaide'smost prodigious stagetalents"-The Advertiser)bringsher multi-award winning solo-show That Daring Australian Girl back to the 2019 Adelaide Fringe for 9 performances only.

"Muriel Matters' legacy is a celebration of South Australia's progressive reforms," says Writer and Performer Joanne Hartstone. "Muriel became as famous as a "Pankhurst" during her campaigning for equality in the UK. But she was a unique "Suffragette" because she had already voted - twice - in South Australia as a fully enfranchised citizen. Her formative years in South Australia had a knock-on effect that changed the world."

The Noel Lothian Hall can't wait to welcome its patrons through the rose strung arches and into a haven of theatre, puppetry and magical style. You won't want to miss this.

Joanne Hartstone and Tom Kitney are available for interviews any time. Their award winning season is available for viewing at https://adelaidefringe.com.au/fringetix?venue=Noel%20Lothian%20Hall%20-%20Adelaide%20Botanic%20Garden
