Angels Descend On Adelaide Festival Centre To Celebrate QBE Partnership
South Australians will be treated to a heavenly performance on earth, when the award-winning immersive show, Enlighten comes to Adelaide Festival Centre in November.
Celebrating the exciting principal partnership between Adelaide Festival Centre and QBE Insurance, an illuminated CUBE inhabited by three angels will take over Festival Theatre foyer in this Adelaide premiere.
The free event will feature six special performances open to the public presented by physical theatre company Born in a Taxi. Audiences can observe from afar, get up close for a blessing or even cross over briefly into the divine realm within the CUBE.
Integrating dance, comedy and participatory theatre with sophisticated interactive lighting and image projections, Enlighten is a visual mediation on how we connect, what's important and our search for the divine within us all.
Joyful, poetic and profound, the work inspires public engagement by bringing a rare mix of self-reflection, playfulness and an unexpected sense of community.
Adelaide Festival Centre CEO & Artistic Director Douglas Gautier AM, said:
"We are looking forward to celebrating Adelaide Festival Centre's partnership with QBE. We both believe in excellence and great customer experiences and what better way to entertain Adelaide audiences than with this immersive contemporary work."
QBE Chief Customer Officer, Bettina Pidcock, said:
"We're delighted to announce Enlighten as our first event with Adelaide Festival Centre to celebrate our new partnership. We recognise South Australians are passionate about the arts and look forward to supporting the Festival Centre's arts for all ambition by providing free and innovative customer experiences."
Adelaide Festival Centre Executive Producer Cabaret & Commercial, Ebony Bott, said:
"We are thrilled to be celebrating the announcement of our partnership with QBE with an event that is of the highest artistic merit. Born in a Taxi's Enlighten is an enchanting, interactive performance that connects audiences through a sense of wonder and play.
