Put your tap shoes on and get ready to dance the night away at the Festival Theatre as Adelaide Festival Centre celebrates Broadway Proms - Christmas on 42nd Street, with special guests Mitchell Butel and Chelsea Gibb on 13 - 14 December. Christmas Proms is the perfect event to get you in the festive spirit and what better way to celebrate than with two of Australia's leading entertainers.

With an extensive career in theatre, film and television, Mitchell Butel is one of Australia's most prolific and versatile acting and singing talents. From Shakespeare recitals to smash-hit musicals, he has performed in countless productions and has recently been cast in one of the leading roles as Luther Billis in Rodger and Hammerstein's Tony-Award winning musical, South Pacific, which will have its Adelaide season from 29 December 2013 for a strictly limited season. Butel has performed in critically acclaimed performances such as The Mikado and Grease and took home the Helpmann Award for Best Actor in a Musical in The Venetian Twins (2005) and Avenue Q (2010). In 2010, he performed at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Killing Time and wowed audiences with his cabaret show Mitchell Butel's Excellent Adventure in 2011.

Australia's musical theatre gem Chelsea Gibb rose to fame when she was awarded the lead role in hit musical, Chicago. After a four-year stint travelling the world as Roxie Hart, Gibb went on to perform starring roles in award-winning musicals including Anna in The King and I, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes and Ruby Red in Get Happy! Gibb has also made various guest television appearances including The Lost World and All Saints and made her film debut in George of the Jungle 2 followed by Australian picture, Josh Jarman.

Making their return will be the ever-popular 34-piece Adelaide Art Orchestra conducted by Timothy Sexton. Adding to the evening's entertainment is none other than Santa Claus himself! And who better to help him spread the Christmas cheer than the beloved clowns, Moose and Boppa.
