Middlebury's Town Hall Theater Announces New Year's Eve Offerings
There's no need to travel far on New Year's Eve, as Middlebury's Town Hall Theater offers two completely different events to ring in 2014.
For those who want a rockin' New Year's Eve, THT is serving up Bandanna. "They're one of our favorite bands," says THT executive director Douglas Anderson, "and they'll be playing a mix of classic rock songs that's just perfect for dancing."
A cash bar and snacks will be available. A special part of the evening comes at midnight, when a free champagne toast happens on the porch of theater, as the Great Bell of Middlebury rings in the New Year. Music begins at 8:00 pm, and party continues to 1 AM. Tickets are only $15.
For those who want an elegant New Year's Eve, THT is partnering once again with the historic Middlebury Inn. "We try to complement the dance at the theater with something very classy, very elegant, to give people a choice," says Anderson. "The Inn is preparing a sumptuous dinner, and I'm pulling in the best talent I can find to present a very special show." The cabaret, which takes place in the Founder's Room during dessert, features THT favorites Kim Anderson, Justin Bouvier, and Leigh Guptill - stars of the recent hit musical SHREK at THT. They'll be singing songs from Broadway that explore the ever-popular theme of romance.
The evening begins at 6:30 pm with a reception in the lobby of the Inn. Dinner is served in the beautiful Founder's Room at 7:30, with the cabaret starting around 9:00.
The event at the Middlebury Inn ends around 10:00 pm, but everyone at Inn can walk across the street and get free admittance to the dance at Town Hall Theater, which will be in full swing. Tickets to the Middlebury Inn event are $85, plus tax. The ticket price includes the reception, the show, the meal, gratuities, and wine with dinner.
