Dorset Theatre Festival to Continue Local First Festival of New Plays with A KISS LIKE NO OTHER

Dorset Theatre Festival continues their Local First Festival of New Plays with a charming romantic comedy, A Kiss Like No Other by Brattleboro playwright, Steve Monroe. The second in their Local First Series, this reading will be presented at the Bennington Museum on Saturday March 19th, at 12:30 pm. Admission is free and all are welcome. With a commitment to New Play Development, the Dorset Theatre Festival is excited to be able to showcase playwrights who come from our region inviting local audiences to participate in the growing of a new play.

A Kiss Like No Other is a three character romantic comedy set in present day New York.

Beth finds a ring. She knows that her long time boyfriend is ready to propose. She should be ecstatic. Problem is, seeing the ring has stirred a memory of a kiss like no other that she received from Michael, a co-worker, a year before. Beth learns from her best friend Susan, who is also in love with her, that Michael just so happens to be returning to town. What is love? A moment of bliss? Or an enduring bond? "I love the way this play explores relationships in a way transcends what is trendy, offering up a non-cynical point of view that can't help but charm the audience" says Dorset Theatre Festival Artistic Director Dina Janis, who will be overseeing the reading.

Support for the Local First Festival of New Plays is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Shubert Foundation, and the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust. "We are thrilled to celebrate the amazing writing talents that exist within our own region. A new play depends upon the early feedback from audiences that it receives.
