Actress Amy Wallis Passes Away From Leukemia
Talent agency The Talent House announced earlier today on their Facebook page the passing of Amy Wallis. Wallis may be best remembered for having played Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables at The Charlottetown Festival for a number of years - as well as in Toronto the last time the production visited here.
The Talent House posted: "It is with a heavy heart, that The Talent House informs you of the passing of our beloved client, Amy Wallis. After a lengthy battle with Leukemia, Amy passed surrounded by loved ones on June 14 2015, in Vancouver. Amy had a flourishing career in Theatre, Opera, and Animation; probably most remembered for her portrayal of Anne in Anne of Green Gables. Amy is remembered by family, and friends alike. We will keep everyone posted with more information as it's received."
Wallis' other credits include a number of shows at Drayton Entertainment including The Wizard of OZ and Robin Hood, two musicals with the Stratford Festival (including Sally in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown), Belle in Beauty and the Beast (Arts Club Theatre Company), and Eponine in Les Miserables at the Western Canada Theatre.
BroadwayWorld wishes to express our deepest condolences to Amy's family, colleagues, fans, and all who knew her or have had the pleasure of seeing her perform.
