Temperatures are set to soar with the arrival of popular dance and live music spectacular Baila Brazil.

From the creators of the sell-out, smash hit 2010 sensation Bale de Rua, Baila Brazil will heat up the Sydney Opera House from 9 to 18 January. Tickets go on sale on Monday 6 October.

The Daily Telegraph called their previous show Bale de Rua "innovative, captivating and enthralling ... a show that makes audiences want to move," while the Sydney Morning Herald described it as "elegant, sexy and heart-stopping".

Bale de Rua was a sell-out in Paris, a triumph in Edinburgh and a hit in London and Baila Brazil is set to be even bigger and brighter - secure your seats now for the sure-fire hit of Sydney this summer.

With a pulsating mix of African dance, hip-hop, samba and capoeira, Brazil's Baila Brazil explodes onto the Sydney Opera House's Concert Hall stage for this adrenaline-fuelled spectacular.

"Live music, energetic dance and incredible visuals will make you feel alive," says the show's choreographer, designer and co-founder Marco Antônio Garcia. "Baila Brazil encompasses everything that makes Brazil so hot right now. It's colourful, passionate, fun and of course, it's a little bit sexy."

Combining live music, breathtaking body movements, dance, dynamic percussion and songs from the heart and soul of Afro Brazil, Baila Brazil has a contagious, exhilarating energy and rhythm that will have people dancing in the aisles.

With even more moving and creative choreographies by company founder Marco Antônio Garcia, no one can resist the urge to sing and dance along with Baila Brazil.

Fernando Narduchi, Marco Antônio Garcia and José Marciel Silva created the Cia de Dança Balé de Rua (Street Ballet) in 1992, after collaborating for four years as part of the urban dance movement in Uberlândia, a small city in the middle of Brazil. They soon developed a close friendship and the mutual desire to establish a new style of dance, always urban but with a marked Brazilian identity. Originally from a poor community, they managed by hard work and perseverance to realise the many dreams they had for themselves and their colleagues through their choreography.

Today they live by their art, provide dance training to more than 300 young people from different parts of Uberlândia and are proud of representing their people at an international level. The Cia de Dança Balé de Rua is more than a dance group, it is an ideal vision of life.

As colourful as the streets from where they hail, the cast of 18 dancers and musicians delivers a high-energy celebration of life, love and the Brazilian way. Their contagious energy and joy is an invitation for everyone to get up and dance alongside the rhythm of the most famous Brazilian hits.

Discover and experience the Brazilian spirit at the Sydney Opera House this summer with the best of Brazil at your doorstep.
