BWW Reviews: FRÅN BROADWAY TILL DUVEMÅLA at Kulturens Hus Luleå

"FRÅN BROADWAY TILL DUVEMÅLA" (From Broadway To Duvemåla) delivers a delicious Swedish smörgåsbord of theatrical vocal talent and a collection of some of the greatest musical theatre songs of all time.

It's a musical theatre lover's paradise and it left me (and many others I could see and hear) walking out with a smile on their face.

Starting with "Circle Of Life" from the animated Disney movie and stage musical "THE LION KING", I immediately got shivers and from that moment I knew that I would have a fantastic night. The rest of the songs were also gorgeously arranged. It was a true Broadway geek's heaven and as close as you can get to the London's West End or New York's Broadway in this smaller, northen town.

The stunning soprano Viktoria Tocca (THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, LUDWIG II, EVITA) along with powerhouse vocalist Laila Adéle (JEKYLL AND HYDE, LEGALLY BLONDE, HAIRSPRAY, MISS SAIGON) and the very talented Daniel Sjöberg (JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, AMADEUS) made a stellar trio and their voices blended beautifully.

My personal highlights were the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA medley, which songs still manages to give me goosebumps and "Defying Gravity" from the hit Broadway musical WICKED.

A special mention to the children's choir "Poppis" who sang a beautiful translated version of the song "Tomorrow" from Annie.
