As previously announced, the Marquis Theatre and the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre would dim their lights in memory of five-time Tony Award nominated actor, singer and performer Jan Maxwell, who passed away on Sunday, February 11th at age 61. The lights dimmed on February 21, 2018, at exactly 7:45pm for one minute.

Southampton African American Museum will present 'Raise Your Voice', the 9th Annual African-American Film Festival for four days October 2 to 5. The celebration of the artistry of African-American filmmakers, actors, personalities, musicians and performers will feature a powerful line-up of critically acclaimed, thought- provoking feature films, documentaries, shorts, jazz and spoken word.

Amas Musical Theatre in association with North Haven Arts and Enrichment will present Broadway's Josh Grisetti (Broadway Bound, Enter Laughing), Alli Mauzey (Wicked, Cry-Baby), and Kevin Pariseau (Legally Blonde) in the New York Premiere of Red Eye of Love, a new musical (based on the 1961 play by Arnold Weinstein) with book and lyrics by Arnold Weinstein and John Wulp, music by Sam Davisand scenic design by renowned American artist Robert Indiana. Directed by Tony Award winner Ted Sperling, previews will begin at the Dicapo Opera Theatre (184 East 76th Street at Lexington Avenue) on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Opening night set for Thursday, September 4 at 8pm. Performances will continue through September 28, 2014. Previews are now underway at Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) for the New York premiere of Our House, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck (The Butterfly Collection and Bad Dates at Playwrights Horizons, Broadway's Mauritius, co-author of Omnium Gatherum). A scathing new comedy that shakes up Reality TV, Our House is the final production of the theater company's 2008/2009 Season.
