Producer Q Theatricals announced today that after critically acclaimed and award winning productions in Seattle, New Jersey and Boston the new musical, ERNEST SHACKLETON LOVES ME, will begin performances on Friday, April 14, 2017 and officially open on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Off-Broadway's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd Street). This strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, June 11th only.

Rose Theatre Kingston today announced the full company for its new production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons. Award-winning Michael Rudman directs David Horovitch as Joe Keller and Penny Downie as Kate Keller with Alex Waldmann (Chris Keller), Grace Carter (Lydia Lubey), Edward Harrison (George Deever), William Meredith (Frank Lubey), Alison Pargeter (Sue Bayliss), David Partridge (Jim Bayliss) and Francesca Zoutewelle (Ann Deever). The production opens on 2 November, with previews from 28 October, and runs until 19 November.

Today in 1915, The Merchant of Venice opened at the 44th Street Theatre. A tragic comedy by William Shakespeare, the play believed to have been written between 1596 and 1598. The title character is the merchant Antonio, not the Jewish moneylender Shylock, who is the play's most prominent and most famous character. This is made explicit by the title page of the first quarto: The mo?t excellent Hi?torie of the Merchant of Venice. The play was recenlty brought to Broadway in 2010 after a successful run at Shakespeare in the Park with Al Pacino and Lily Rabe.

To mark the Centenary of Arthur Miller's birth and the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Richard Beecham will direct a revival of Miller'sPlaying for Time in the Crucible. Custom Made Theatre caps its 15th season with Arthur Miller's The Crucible, directed by Stuart Bousel. The Crucible is arguably The Great American Play, a classic story of individuals confronting the corruption within their society and standing up for their convictions under even the direst of circumstances.
