The Ruth Page Civic Ballet is proud to present its annual production of The Nutcracker this holiday season playing December 6 - 7 at Northeastern Illinois University, 5500 N. St. Louis Ave. Co-directed by Victor Alexander and Dolores Lipinski Long, the ballet plays on Saturday, December 6 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at 1 and 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 for general admission, $20 for seniors and children under the age of 12 and $5 for NEIU students, faculty and staff, per I.D. card. Also available is 'Tea with Clara,' a delightful tea party which patrons can enjoy with their favorite The Nutcracker characters from 3:15 - 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. Tickets, which include admission to either show, are $85 for adults and $50 for children under the age of 12. Staircase Theatre presents the Canadian premiere of Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's wickedly funny play, Hunter Gatherers. Directed by Vancouver theatre veteran Ryan Gladstone, Hunter Gatherers is a darkly comic evening where the line between the civilized and the primal is blurred and where not everyone will survive long enough to enjoy the brownies for dessert. Hunter Gatherers stars Jessie Award winning actors Jay Clift & Peter Carlone, as well as Jessie Award nominee Pippa Mackie and Maryanne Renzetti. On view from today, November 4, 2014 through February 22, 2015, the exhibition focuses on work emanating from a number of key cities that serve as cultural hubs for some of the most pertinent new ideas about art, design, and craft.
