The Frankel Baruch Viertel Routh Group and NETworks Presentations LLC are pleased to announce that Tony Award winners and original stars of the Broadway production of The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein, Roger Bart and Shuler Hensley will reprise the roles of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and The Monster respectively in the eponymous national tour, opening at PPAC, September 29 - October 4, 2009.

'Hooray for Joey Slotnick!' Director Henry Wishcamper has tapped Chicago native Joey Slotnick for the lead role of the African explorer 'Captain Jeffrey T. Spaulding'-the heightened vaudevillian persona created by Groucho Marx for the 1929 stage and screen original-in Goodman Theatre's season opening musical Animal Crackers, written by George S. Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind, with music and lyrics by Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby.

Tony Winner 'Take Me Out' At Rising Action Theatre

Playwright Richard Greenberg won a Tony Award for Best Play 2003 for Take Me Out. Take Me Out traveled from London to New York in the first co-production of the Donmar Warehouse and The Public Theater, and then transferred to Broadway. He is the author of over 25 plays including 8 South Coast Repertory World Premieres: The Violet Hour, Three Days of Rain (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, Pulitzer Prize finalist, Olivier, Drama Desk and Hull-Warriner nominations), and The Extra Man. He is a winner of the Oppenheimer Award and the first winner of the PEN/Laura Pels Award for a playwright in mid-career.

Guest speaker will be Howard Sherman, executive director of the American Theatre Wing. The symposium will be a free-ranging discussion about the playwright, his influences and his impact on the modern theatre.
