Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Candy Spelling and The Weinstein Company will present the first-ever Broadway revival of PROMISES, PROMISES this spring at the Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway). Previews will begin on Sunday, March 28th, 2010 with an opening night slated for Sunday, April 25th, 2010. The musical is written by legends Neil Simon (book), Burt Bacharach (music), and Hal David (lyrics). Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes will make his Broadway debut starring in the role of Chuck Baxter opposite Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, returning to Broadway as Fran Kubelik. Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford will also make his Broadway directorial debut and choreograph. More casting and creative team members will be announced in the near future. (more...)

Harold Prince and Susan Stroman will direct an all-American cast in the world premiere of Paradise Found at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Based on the novel The Tale of the 1002nd Night by Viennese author Joseph Roth, Paradise Found previews from 19 May. With music by Johann Strauss II, adapted and arranged by Jonathan Tunick, Paradise Found has book by Richard Nelson and lyrics by Ellen Fitzhugh. The production will run until 26 June. Reprise Records will release The Original Broadway Cast Recording of American Idiot on April 20, 2010, the same day the show will open at the St. James Theatre in New York City. The official album features the 24-member cast accompanied by Green Day, marking another incredible collaboration between the band and the musical. Based on Green Day's chart-topping 2004 album American Idiot, the musical and the cast recording include every song from American Idiot, as well as several songs from the band's GRAMMY® Award-winning current album 21st Century Breakdown. With Tony® winner Faith Prince marking the conclusion of The Orange County Performing Arts Center's Broadway Diva-heavy 2009-2010 cabaret season just this past weekend, the Center is gearing up for a new season this fall with a line-up that includes more superstars from the Broadway stage, including versatile actress, comedienne and singer Megan Mullally (who also recently made headlines after dropping out abruptly from the Broadway production of Lips Together, Teeth Apart) in her Samueli Theater debut with her band Supreme Music Program; Center favorites Jason Graae and Tony winner Lillias White in a Cy Coleman tribute; Tony winner Sutton Foster; and Broadway's original Wicked Green Girl, Tony winner Idina Menzel with a full symphony orchestra in a one-night-only concert in Segerstrom Hall.
