The Central Works 2016 Season closing production of Karen Zacarias' a new play Into the Beautiful North, has extended and must close November 20 (originally scheduled to close Nov. 13). Central Works' first partnership with the National New Play Network was met with a tremendous response from the press and audiences alike. The Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts (SBCPA) is pleased to announce the return of The Elmer Bernstein Memorial Film Series for its third season.  This year's series will launch with a screening of the comedy classic, Animal House, on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 7pm.

The Ambassador Theatre Group is to produce a brand new stage musical based on the life of the legendary Frank Sinatra, in partnership with Stewart Till and Frank Sinatra Enterprises.  The show, which is planned to open in 2018, will feature a number of timeless hit songs from Sinatra's incredible catalogue of over 1400 tracks recorded during his illustrious career. It is a fascinating examination of the darker, indefinable and more taboo feelings associated with love, mistrust and temptation. But when is the line crossed, and what do we do when it is? It is a playful and often farcical examination of what is so often played as a heavy subject.
