Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal will star in an upcoming national tour of LOVE LETTERS, celebrated playwright A.R. Gurney's enduring romance about first loves and second chances. Following a critically-acclaimed Broadway run, the national tour of Gregory Mosher's production will launch in Summer 2015, visiting Los Angeles, Detroit, Boston, Dallas, Baltimore and others to be announced. The musical originally premiered on Broadway in 1963, and subsequently had productions in the West End in 1964 and award-winning revivals on each side of the Atlantic in the 1990's, as well as a benefit revival by The Roundabout in 2011. 4th Wall's production will be directed by Josh Penzell.

It's been 50 years since the Beatles took Los Angeles by storm with their first concert at the Hollywood Bowl on August 23, 1964. This year, Beatlemania returns to the Bowl stage with a re-creation of that iconic performance Friday and Saturday, August 22 and 23, at 8 pm, as well as Sunday, August 24, at 7:30 pm. 'Ringmaster' Dave Stewart (co-founder of the Eurythmics) is joined by a fantastic lineup of talented special guests - all huge fans of the legendary foursome: Australian superstar Vanessa Amorosi, performing all three nights; Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Michelle Branch, performing Saturday and Sunday; multi-platinum recording artist Billy Ray Cyrus, performing all three nights; singer-songwriter and activist Mary Lambert, performing Friday and Sunday; multi-platinum superstar Martina McBride, performing Saturday and Sunday; soul singer Allen Stone, performing all three nights; and alternative R&B/soul singer Liv Warfield, performing all three nights. The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

This year it's presenting the popular classic, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein. When it opened on Broadway 50 years ago in 1964, the musical was nominated for ten Tony Awards and won nine. In 1971, it was made into a movie, produced and directed by Norman Jewison, starring Chaim Topol who was nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award for his portrayal of Tevye the Milkman.

The schedule for this summer's Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival, which runs from July 20 to August 10, was announced today by Bill Bragin, Lincoln Center's Director of Public Programming.
