Based on the novel by Manuel Puig

Winner of seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman explores the complex relationship between two men caged together in an Argentinean prison. Valentin is a tough political revolutionary undergoing torture. Molina is an unabashedly gay man serving time for deviant behavior. Molina recounts to Valentin his favorite movie-musical fantasies, and it becomes a mental refuge for both as the lines of fantasy and reality become blurred. This compelling musical drama resonates love, longing and liberation.

RIALTO CHATTER: Shuberts to Name Broadway Theater For Hal Prince?RIALTO CHATTER: Shuberts to Name Broadway Theater For Hal Prince?
by Rialto Chatter - Jan 26, 2011

Michael Reidel reports in the NY Post today that the Shubert Organization is considering renaming one of its theaters after legendary producer/director Hal Prince in the near future. As Riedel quotes, Prince collaborator Stephen Sondheim has said of the honor: 'I find it astonishing, especially now that directors play so central a role in the success -- or failure of -- Broadway shows. Harold Prince is very much alive and well, and seeing as how he has won more Tony Awards than any other individual, I'd say . . . he deserves the nod.' (more...)

BWW Interviews: Sergio Trujillo - Broadway's Quadruple Threat Talks JERSEY BOYS, 'NORMAL,' WHITE NOISEBWW Interviews: Sergio Trujillo - Broadway's Quadruple Threat Talks JERSEY BOYS, 'NORMAL,' WHITE NOISE
by BWW - Jan 14, 2011

Given the odds, for one to have been involved with a singular Broadway success would be impressive. To have been involved with two would solidify one's status as a true Broadway 'player.' How about 4, running at the same time? Only two artists have been able to boast such an accomplishment, the first being Susan Stroman, whose productions of Contact, The Producers, The Music Man, and Thou Shalt Not all ran simultaneously for a short time in 2001. Last season, Broadway's go-to choreographer, Sergio Trujillo, joined her company with his superfecta of Next to Normal, Jersey Boys, The Addams Family and Memphis. It appears that like Jersey Boys, Memphis, and The Addams Family, Trujillo is showing no signs of breaking his streak, or going anywhere, with new projects in the pipeline incoming. (more...)
