Eric Schaeffer, the Artistic Director of Signature Theatre, tonight announced that Signature will honor Stephen Sondheim at a Gala Benefit in April and establish an annual award as a tribute to America's most influential contemporary musical theater composer. Signature will salute Mr. Sondheim at a black-tie Gala Celebration on Monday, April 27, 2009, in Washington, DC highlighted by a musical tribute, festive dinner, and dancing and inaugurate an annual honor to be known in future years as The Sondheim Award.

A new Broadway revival of the Sondheim/Goldman masterpiece Follies may be in the works

According to Whatsonstage.com, Kim Criswell will replace Elaine Stritch as Carlotta Campion in London's upcoming 'Follies in Concert,' which will be presented at the London Palladium on February 4th, 2007 at 7:15 PM.

New York City Center's Encores! 2007 Season pays tribute to the 100th Anniversary of the first Ziegfeld Follies, kicking off the celebration with Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's legendary 1971 multiple Tony Award-winner, Follies, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music direction by Eric Stern. Follies will play for six performances, from February 8 - 12 at New York City Center, 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.

With the casting of Colin Donnell as Young Ben and Natalie King Smith as Young Dee Dee, casting for the eagerly anticipated Encores! production of Follies is now complete.
