The 2011 Cosmopolitan Cabaret season, California Musical Theatre's third in the 200-seat venue at 10th and K Streets in Sacramento, will feature the Tony-nominated Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II 'A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING,' the return of the battle-of-the-sexes comedy 'DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN' and a new musical comedy about friendship among women, 'BINGO.'

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director) will present the world premiere of Imagining Heschel, a new play by Colin Greer, directed by Larry Moss, who was last represented Off-Broadway by his acclaimed production of Syringa Tree. The two-character play will feature actors Richard Dreyfuss and Rinde Eckert. Performances begin at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street, NYC) on Thursday, November 4th, 2010, and continue through Sunday, November 28th, 2010, for 20 performances only. An official opening night is set for Monday, November 8, 2010.

American Ballet Theatre's 2011 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 16-July 9, was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. Highlights of the season include World Premieres by Alexei Ratmansky and Christopher Wheeldon, the New York Company Premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's The Bright Stream and the U.S. Premiere of a new work by Benjamin Millepied. Principal Dancers for the 2011 Metropolitan Opera Season include Maxim Beloserkovsky, Roberto Bolle, Jose Manuel Carreño, Angel Corella, Herman Cornejo, Irina Dvorovenko, Marcelo Gomes, David Hallberg, Paloma Herrera, Julie Kent, Gillian Murphy, Veronika Part, Xiomara Reyes, Ethan Stiefel, Diana Vishneva and Michele Wiles. Natalia Osipova, a principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet, and Alina Cojocaru, a principal dancer with The Royal Ballet, will return for the Spring season as guest artists.

By the time of his untimely death at 57 in 1981, Paddy Chayefsky was known as one of the most daring and talented American screen writers. His sharply satiric films-like Network, The Hospital, and Altered States-manage to combine laughs and tender moments of intimacy with his habitually wry and critical view of humanity. But cinema was a late frontier for Chayefsky, ventured into only after the writer had conquered television, with such classics of live TV as the drama Marty, and stage, where he had his second Broadway hit in 1959 with an unusual comedy called The Tenth Man. Now The American Century Theater is reviving The Tenth Man to open the company's 2010-2011 season.
