The Donmar Warehouse production of RED has recouped its $2.25 million production costs as of the week ending June 20, 2010, officially entering the hit column. The production, the biggest Tony Award-winner of the 2009-2010 season, ends its strictly limited engagement on Sunday, June 27 at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), playing 101 performances and 22 previews. Marin Theatre Company has announced an extension of their revival of Woody Guthrie's American Song. The show now plays in Marin Theatre Company's Boyer Theatre through June 27, 2010. Conceived, adapted and directed by Peter Glazer, this musical has been pleasing audiences since its premiere in 1988. It won the Bay Area Critics Circle Award for best musical in its co-production at Berkeley Rep and San Jose Repertory Theatre in 1992. (more...)

Icon Entertainment International has begun to sell international distribution rights for Ralph Fiennes' 'Coriolanus,' according to a report by Deadline.com. First buyers include Spain and the BBC for UK television. The BBC is a co-producer of the picture, which stars Tony Award-winner Vanessa Redgrave along with Fiennes as Coriolanus, Gerard Butler as Afidius, and Emmy Award-winner Brian Cox as Menenius. Directed by Travis Preston and in Kenneth McLeish's translation of Henrik Ibsen's original, The Master Builder previews from 12 November and runs until 8 January 2011, with press night on 18 November.
