David Mirvish and National Artists Management Company have just announced that they will present the Broadway premiere of The Heart of Robin Hood, written by David Farr, featuring original music performed on-stage by Parsonsfieldand directed by acclaimed Icelandic theatrical artist Gísli Örn Gardarsson. The production will open on Broadway on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway). Previews begin on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Tarragon Theatre presents the English-language premiere of Abyss, written and translated by Tarragon's first-ever International playwright-in-residence Maria Milisavljevic and directed by Artistic Director Richard Rose. This poetic thriller about a missing woman premiered (as Brandung) at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, winning the prestigious 2013 Kleist Promotional Award for Young Dramatists. Abyss opens February 11 and runs to March 15, 2015 (previewing from February 3) in Tarragon's Extraspace, and marks the Canadian debut of German playwright Milisavljevic. (more...)

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, continues its 2014-2015 REVOLUTIONary season with two new productions: The Threepenny Opera, Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's groundbreaking theatrical work in Michael Feingold's translation February 15 through May 9 (press opening February 21) and William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar March 22 to May 8 (press opening March 28). While both plays spoke to the times in which they were first produced - Weimar Germany and Elizabethan England, respectively-they also speak to this season's theme of REVOLUTION, most especially from a socio-political point of view. The full cast has been announced for the world stage premiere of John Boyne's highly acclaimed and best-selling international novel The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas which opens at Chichester Festival Theatre on 19 February, from where it will tour England until 27 June.
