It all started on May 16, 1984. As You Like It opened for a one week run at Manuel's Tavern on North Highland Avenue and a dream was born.
During that time, the talented Ms. Street-Kavanaugh has performed in musicals, plays, commercials, movies and videos and she's done voice-overs, choreography, cabaret, cruise ships and concerts. Furthermore, she's directed and produced, and was nominated for an Irene Ryan national acting award, a First Night Award (for the original production of The Bop She Bops at Chaffin's Backstage at the Barn Theatre in which I compared her to a young Ann Margret) and she won a best actress award as Mama Rose in Circle Players' production of Gypsy.

CHESS opened at the Signature Theatre on August 10 and will run through September 26. The cast is lead by Jill Paice (Curtains, The 39 Steps) as Florence Vassy, Euan Morton (Boy George in Taboo, Sondheim on Sondheim) as Anatoly Sergievsky and Jeremy Kushnier (Footloose, Rent) as Freddie Trumper. Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2009-2010 Season with the Central Coast Premiere of a timely drama about a fascinating and enigmatic figure in American history. TRYING, which opens March 13 and runs through April 4th (with low-priced previews March 11 and 12), is a poignant, poetic and powerful story about a relationship between Francis Biddle, Attorney General under Roosevelt and Chief Judge at the Nuremburg trials; and Sarah, a tenacious 25-year-old woman from the Canadian plains, one of a string of secretaries Biddle's wife has hired to help him put his affairs in order at the end of his long an illustrious career. Biddle, 81, is in poor health, proud and cantankerous as he begins to confront his own mortality. Sarah, however, is also headstrong, and from her early life on the prairie has developed a strength and wisdom beyond her years. Despite the difference in ideologies and age, the two forge a friendship. The play is autobiographical in nature and is written by Joanna McClelland Glass, who worked for Biddle in the late 60s.

London singing sensation Barb Jungr is returning to the legendary venue with an all new show. 'River' will play six (6) performances only from February 25 to March 6, and will launch a new series of late-night shows designed to provide an attractive new entertainment option for the Café Carlyle's sophisticated clientele.
