Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) is pleased to announce that the John W. Henry Family Foundation will be the lead sponsor for this summer's production of OTHELLO, starring Seth Gilliam as Othello and James Waterston as Iago. The production begins performances on the Boston Common on July 28 and runs through August 15. Established in 2004 the John W. Henry Family Foundation is dedicated to supporting community organizations like CSC whose work make Boston a world-class city brimming not only with excellent sports teams, but also with extraordinary arts organizations.

Producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave will return to the New York stage this Fall to star opposite one another in the Broadway Premiere of Alfred Uhry‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy. Directed by David Esbjornson (The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?), Driving Miss Daisy will begin performances on October 7, 2010, at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), with an official opening on Monday, October 25, 2010.

On May 25 at 10am, Obie and Drama Desk award-winning Broadway actress Kathleen Chalfant will deliver the keynote address at The Cooper Union's 151st Commencement. Chalfant has performed in major productions in New York, Los Angeles and London. Well known to audiences for her portrayal of Vivian Bearing in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Wit, Ms. Chalfant received the Obie Award, Drama Desk Award, Lucille Lortel Award, Drama League Award and Los Angeles Ovation Award, among others, for her performance. Among her numerous honors, she was acclaimed for her Tony-nominated performance as Hannah Pitt in Tony Kushner's Angels in America: Millennium Approaches on Broadway and received her second Obie Award for her performance in Talking Heads. In 1996, Chalfant made her Shakespearean debut in the Public Theater's Henry V, for which she received that year's Calloway Award for Best Classical Performance.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline may headline a production of Theresa Rebeck's POOR BEHAVIOR on Broadway in the fall of this year. According to Riedel, a 'top secret' reading of the play was held on Monday, April 19, with Weaver, Kline, Dylan Baker and Laila Robbins. Doug Hughes directed.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 23 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Written by Yasmina Reza, 'Art' has achieved spectacular success. It has been translated into at least 35 languages and won numerous awards. The production stars Colin Mochrie (Whose Line is It Anyway?, CTV/ ABC) as Serge, Peter Donaldson (And So It Goes, Factory; Hysteria, Canadian Stage) as Marc and Evan Buliung (Cloud 9, Mirvish Productions; The House of Martin Guerre, Canadian Stage) as Yvan and is directed by Morris Panych (7 Stories, The Overcoat, Canadian Stage). Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). This is their first collaboration since the landmark, Tony Award-winning revival of Show Boat. Following the New York rehearsal period, the production will open at London's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory with performances running May 19 through June 26.

The Public Theater announced complete casting for the world premiere of Suzan-Lori Parks' THE BOOK OF GRACE, directed by James Macdonald. The complete cast will feature Amari Cheatom as Buddy, John Doman as Vet, and the previously announced Elizabeth Marvel as Grace. THE BOOK OF GRACE will begin previews on Tuesday, March 2 and run through Sunday, April 4 with an official press opening on Tuesday, March 16. All evening performances for THE BOOK OF GRACE will be at 7:30 PM, except for Saturdays at 8 PM.
