Six-time Tony Award-winning costume designer CATHERINE ZUBER and legendary scenic designer TONY STRAIGES are among the 2017 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients which were just announced by Theatre Development Fund (TDF), a not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts.

Olivier Award winners Pat Kinevane and Fishamble: The New Play Company return to Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, the company that introduced Los Angeles audiences to the Irish writer/performer's extraordinary Forgotten and Silent, with his third solo work about life lived on the fringes of society. Jim Culleton, artistic director of Dublin's Fishamble and director of both Forgotten and Silent, directs the West Coast premiere of Underneath for a limited run Oct. 14 - Oct. 30. The engagement will also include two performances of Silent, which garnered the 2016 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement following its run at London's Soho Theatre.

Celebrated early on for his sexually charged lyrics and for experimentally combining various genres of music (funk, R&B, new wave to pop and pop rock), Prince was and still is a one-man musical revolution. He has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling artists of all time. For a cabaret performer to take on Prince's challenging discography is not only ambitious, it's extremely BOLD. It would require a singer to have amazing vocal flexibility and power, smoldering sensuality, and strong emotional connections to the lyrics.
