To celebrate the third anniversary of the first performance of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, the production is rolling out a series of videos of dramatic readings of selections from Glen Berger's new tome, Song of Spider-Man: The Inside Story of the Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History. In yesterday's New York Post, Michael Cohl, the producer of Broadway's SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK opened up to Michael Riedel about the recent news that the show will be closing down in January.

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, the Broadway spectacular that defied odds and expectations to conquer New York, is moving to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. After more than three historic years on Broadway, the show play its final performance at the Foxwoods Theatre on January 4, 2014. Additional information on the upcoming Las Vegas production will be announced in the weeks to come. SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark is currently the 16th highest grossing Broadway production of all time, having taken in more than $200 million at the box office. The show has been seen by approximately two million fans, and will have played 1,268 performances by the time it takes its final bow at the Foxwoods Theatre.

Following a flurry of rumors this evening, BroadwayWorld has received official word that SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK will be switching off the lights in January 2014.

The Wall Street Journal reports that SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK will be switching off the lights in January 2014. 'People familiar with the matter' told the WSJ that the announcement will be made this week. Variety has also independently confirmed the show's January closing.

KISS bass guitarist and vocalist Gene Simmons Tweeted today: 'Thank you, Michael Cohl for offering me the role of the Green Goblin on the Broadway production of #spiderman', along with a picture of the villain. Broadway's Daniel Curry, appearing for the first time since his injury during a performance SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK this August -- when his leg was pinned by a piece of equipment backstage -- thanked friends, family and colleagues tonight, October 21, at the 'Web of Love' fundraiser hosted in his honor at the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe in New York City.

According to the New York Times, Curry remains at Bellevue Hospital, where he just had his third foot surgery.
