BWW Interview: Tom Jacobson Waxes Poetic on Theatre, Church & Playwriting

Prolific playwright Tom Jacobson will have the world premiere of his latest theatrical work CAPTAIN OF THE BIBLE QUIZ TEAM opening August 27, 2016  (weekends only) through October 3, 2016.  This immersive piece (with the audience as the congregation) will be presented at venues to include the Lutheran Church of the Master, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and Hollywood Lutheran Church.

Marin Theatre Company Sets 2016-17 Family Series

This fall, Marin Theatre Company unleashes their 2016-17 Family Series season with tales of growing up, friendship, and self discovery. Kicking off its second Family Series Season of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) plays is writer and performer Jim Napolitano with his original shadow puppet story, Father Goose's Tales. Next up are three fully self-produced TYA productions: an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's engrossing The Jungle Book by Greg Banks, Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale, The Snow Queen, adapted by Mike Kenny, and Brendan Murray's endearing rendition of Hare and Tortoise.

Berkeley Rep announced today it will present the world premiere of John Leguizamo: Latin History for Dummies. Written and performed by Leguizamo and directed by Berkeley Rep's Michael Leibert Artistic Director Tony Taccone, this limited engagement will run Friday, July 1-Sunday, August 14 in the newly renovated Peet's Theatre. THE FUNFAIR Launches HOME's New Space Tonight

Director Walter Meierjohann has announced the cast of the world premiere of The Funfair, the first HOME production in its brand new home at First Street in Manchester. An adaptation by Olivier Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens of Ödon von Horvath's classic 1932 play Kasimir and Karoline, the production features a cast of 13 actors and actor-musicians.
